Barack Obama celebrates wedding day with roses |

GLENSIDE, US: Democratic presidential candidate senator Barack Obama buys a dozen of 12 white roses for his wife Michelle on the occasion of their 16th wedding anniversary, at Penny’s Flowers in Glenside, Pennsylvania October 3.
Shop owner Rick Pannepacker says, “Well it was just one of those things. Obama was having a rally at my old high school and he wanted to come in a buy flowers for he and his wife’s anniversary. We had just found out the night before. The secret service came with bomb sniffing dogs before hand and there was a lot of security etc.
Mary waited on him and he bought a dozen white roses. There was quite a bit of press in the store from all the news agencies so we got a ton of free publicity. He was very engaging and easy to talk with. This is good for the whole flower industry. We sold some extra white roses the next few days as well.”
